The current San Francisco to San Jose can only accommodate the slower on grade Caltrain passenger trains.                 The proposed grade-free HSR trains are on its own corridor. This HSR corridor is a high capacity and efficient people-moving system.
The Diridon Station will have a significant problem to accept the HSR trains. HSR need to go on toward Gilroy. There is insufficient track capacity at Diridon for commuters and HSR trains.
The better solution is to run the HSR trains to Redwood City and then to Fremont and on to the Lathrop wye. This HSR corridor will make way more economic sense since this route will also serve the central valley cities. No backtracking  with this corridor plan.
Provide service to Stockton - Sacramento, and Modesto - and to the south to Los Angeles.

Why a Cascadia High-Speed Rail

Public transport becomes increasingly important in cities with limited space. Connecting corridors with high-speed rail between cities will improve intercity transit.
