The HSR route is from Sacramento to Stockton and Lathrop CA.
This planned corridor uses the former Western Pacific rail corridor.
The WPRR corridor has 26-grade crossings. The SPRR, Sacramento, Lodi, and Stockton have 39-grade crossings plus nine spur tracks. This will require HSR flyovers, estimated 15.5 miles long, not fully studied as of now. The WPRR corridor will allow the best speed between Sacramento and Stockton. Estimated trip time 20 minutes.
HSR flyover lengths between Sacramento to the north side of Stockton are about the same on both corridors. This WPRR is an un-surveyed conception corridor plan, flyover mileages are estimated.
We must use existing right-of-way to construct HSR routes wherever we can.
Protect food-producing farmland. Reduce expensive farmland right of way acquisition costs.
Solution; let us buy the former WPRR corridor from the, “now UPRR” in this area. There is only one rail-freight customer in this proposed segment. This area segment off the WPRR corridor will now belong exclusively to the CHSR RoW. The UPRR will then use money derived from this sale to upgrade the Sacramento, Elk Grove, Lodi, and Stockton corridor. The UPRR capacity, safety for the freight line is improved., perhaps adding some additional motorway overpasses. Be smart, consider things and help one and another, benefiting our USA society in general.

Why a Cascadia High-Speed Rail

Public transport becomes increasingly important in cities with limited space. Connecting corridors with high-speed rail between cities will improve intercity transit.
